Signature Theatre’s education initiatives expand our commitment to storytellers by celebrating the perspectives and participation of the next generation. We prioritize sustained access, activation, and imagination, both on our stages and in our shared spaces. We are dedicated to connecting our resident writers and their bodies of work to educational opportunities, diving deep into the canon of today’s artists and making space for the voices of tomorrow.
Student Nights
Signature hosts special nights for Mainstage productions exclusively available to student members, who also receive advanced booking privileges and special discounts. Student Nights include special activities, including artist talkbacks, work sharing, parties, and more.
STUDY GUIDES
Signature Theatre offers study guides for each show to give students a comprehensive overview of the play with interviews of the playwrights, a breakdown of characters, writing exercises, background knowledge of the play, and much more.
Student
Matinees
Signature offers free Student Matinees for New York City public high school students through a long-standing partnership with New York City’s Department of Education. Student Matinees include a post-show conversation with cast and creatives working on the show. Additional learning materials and classroom guides for each production are provided.
College
Partnerships
Signature partners with colleges to provide further access to students interested in working in the arts. Previous college partnerships have included tours of Signature’s space, masterclasses with Signature’s staff, access to shows, and more.
