Position Summary
Signature Theatre is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and entrepreneurial fundraiser who is ready to help launch the institution into its next era of fundraising through individual giving programs that deeply engage donors in our mission and the work we produce, and benefit events that advance the institution in fundraising and brand positioning. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Director of Individual Giving & Special Events is a key position in Signature’s Development Department. During the 2022.23 season, this role oversees approximately $2MM of Signature’s annual fundraising, with plans to grow that total in future seasons.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy and execution of two of our core giving programs: the Artistic Director’s Circle ($10K+) and the Patron Program ($1,000-$9,999)
- Deliver on annual fundraising goals for both programs, and track progress/communicate strategic wins & setbacks each month
- Identify and cultivate new prospects for both programs, in partnership with Development Team and Executive Leadership, and oversee moves management progress for all active prospects
- Secure annual renewals of ADC & Patron membership through mail, email, and phone solicitations
- Steward the institutional relationships with our ADC & Patron members, including managing a portfolio of donors and managing up portfolio steps for Executive Leadership, the Director of Development & Associate Director of Development.
- Oversee and guide benefit fulfillment for ADC & Patron donors, with help from the Individual Giving Coordinator
- Search for new ways to continue to engage and connect with donors, and lead a process of re-evaluating benefits ahead of the 23.24 season
- Manage the Individual Giving Coordinator in owning the Friends ($100-$999) and Just Inked (Young Patrons) programs, as well as all small gifts under $100
- Provide direct oversight, mentorship, and partnership to the Individual Giving Coordinator to facilitate their ownership of the strategy and execution of these key giving programs
- Approve public communications and solicitation language for these programs
- Partner to create strategy, content, and language for joint campaigns for all programs during the end-of calendar and fiscal year seasons
- Lead the strategy and execution of revenue generation for the annual spring gala, and any other benefit events
- Partnering with Executive, Board, and Event Leadership, deliver on ticket and table goals for the annual spring gala, and track progress/communicate strategic wins & setbacks regularly throughout gala season
- Identify prospects for table/ticket sales to add to invitation and benefit committee lists, and work with Board and Event Leadership to solicit their prospective table/ticket buyers
- Drive the save-the-date, invitation, and benefit committee ask process to ensure that core stakeholders get properly solicited with ample time before the event
- Liaise with table and ticket buyers on guest names, and access needs/dietary restrictions in advance of the event
- Co-manage the Institutional Giving & Special Projects Coordinator in overseeing event planning logistics for galas and opening nights
- Partner with the Marketing Team on public communications regarding Individual Giving & Special Events
Desired Experience
- 4+ years of fundraising experience, preferably in an arts and culture institution
- Proven track record of managing individual giving programs, and familiarity with special events fundraising
- Experience in Adobe Suite, Wordfly, Wordpress, and/or Tessitura a plus
- Experience in managing and mentoring staff members a plus
Desired Skills
- Comfort in representing Signature Theatre to the public, and excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Innovative and entrepreneurial approach to fundraising, and an optimistic approach in facing the challenges and opportunities presented by the current moment in the nonprofit arts and culture field
- Excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks, and manage work up and down the org chart
Compensation
This is a full-time salaried exempt position with an annual salary of $75,000-$80,000. This position must be able to have flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for donor greeting and events.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager is responsible for daily accounting operations of the finance department. The Accounting Manager ensures timely, accurate, and complete financial information is available for the staff and our external partners to make financial decisions that impact the company. This person has excellent attention-to-detail and foundational accounting knowledge, comfortable with debits and credits and all daily bookkeeping tasks. The Accounting Manager supervises a part-time Finance Assistant to ensure accuracy and timeliness of daily deposits and weekly Accounts Payable processing, around 30 payments/week.
Responsibilities
- Review daily cash receipts
- Review weekly Accounts Payable process
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card processor activity
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Manage revenue recognition, grant compliance, and purpose restrictions
- Ensure data integrity of accounting postings, particularly of internal stakeholders
Box Office and Development
- Support the monthly and year-end close process
- Manage annual audit schedule preparation
- Supervise part-time Finance Assistant
Desired Experience
- Coursework in finance/accounting or equivalent work experience
- Experience with accounting software
- Familiarity with Tessitura is a big plus!
- Two or more years of related experience
