Global Majority Night
Friday, April 15 7:30PM
This performance is in celebration of the richly vast communities that surround Signature Theatre. We are encouraging People of the Global Majority to center themselves as valued members of the theatre going community by creating space to witness and be witnessed by non-white reflections of the world’s population.
The performance will be followed by a panel moderated by Salamishah Tillet (contributing critic-at-large for the New York Times, Henry Rutgers Professor of African American Studies and Creative Writing) featuring Soyica Colbert (Idol Family Professor of African American Studies and Performing Arts at Georgetown University) and Farah Jasmine Griffin (William B. Ransford Professor of English and Comparative Literature and African-American Studies at Columbia University). The event will be livestreamed by Broadway Black.
"Global Majority is a collective term that first and foremost speaks to and encourages those so-called to think of themselves as belonging to the global majority. It refers to people who are Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, indigenous to the global south, and or have been racialized as 'ethnic minorities'.” Rosemary Campbell-Stephens MBE - Global Majority 2020
If you do not identify as the aforementioned, we kindly encourage you to select another performance.
